Tips for working with a mental healthcare professional

In this week's podcast we're responding to the following question from our inbox:

"Lately I feel even more beat down by my anxiety than usual. I wonder if some time you could talk about knowing when it's time to seek face to face care with a mental health professional? Maybe the broad strokes of what different kinds of care are available."

Points to consider:

  • it is important to find someone you are comfortable with

  • you should feel safe, free to speak and never judged

  • it's OK to try different practitioners and different therapies until you find one that you are happy with

  • bodywork can be helpful - for example: acupuncture or massage
