Anxiety can make us feel avoidant of our feelings. Since anxious feelings feel awful and are challenging to sit with, we often seek diversion.
But research shows that 90% of our thinking is subconscious, like an iceberg, much of our dialogue, beliefs and feelings are beneath the surface. They are running our experiences beneath our conscious awareness.
Looking at our feelings and beliefs gives us the opportunity to upgrade our subconscious experience. We can neutralize traumatic experiences with help, change limiting beliefs and make space to respond to our feelings as messengers.
Through practices that help us respond to our feelings, rather than react, we can support ourselves with some healing and clearing.
